This policy helps us manage the studio calendar and gives us a fair chance to offer the time slot to another artist who may be waiting for availability.

To secure a recording session, we require a £60 deposit at the time of booking. This deposit confirms your session and ensures that the studio time is reserved exclusively for you. Once the booking is confirmed, we begin planning for the session, which may include preparing equipment, organising engineering time, and keeping that slot unavailable for other potential clients.

We completely understand that artists often lead very busy lives. Many musicians balance their creative work with jobs, travel, rehearsals, and personal commitments. Sometimes unexpected situations arise illness, work obligations, transport delays, or other last-minute changes. We genuinely try to be understanding and flexible whenever possible.

However, from time to time artists attempt to cancel a recording session the day before, or even on the morning of the session itself. While it may seem like a small change from the artist''s perspective, a last-minute cancellation can have a significant impact on the studio.

When a session is booked, that time is held specifically for that artist. If the session is cancelled too late, it becomes extremely difficult to fill the slot with another booking. This means the studio may lose several hours of potential work, which can create financial challenges.

For this reason, if a session is cancelled without the required five days' notice, the £60 deposit is normally retained by the studio. The deposit helps cover part of the time that was reserved and the work that went into organising the session. It is not intended as a penalty, but rather as a practical way to protect the studio from being left out of pocket.
