Cash pile - Studio Rates

One of the most common questions artists ask when booking studio time is whether it’s better to pay an hourly or daily rate. The answer depends on the type of session, the number of people involved, and the level of production required. At our London recording studios, we’ve designed our pricing to be fair, flexible, and reflective of the real work involved in different types of bookings.

Not all recording sessions are the same. A solo artist recording vocals over a backing track is very different from tracking a full band, and both are worlds apart from full music production where songs are written, arranged, and recorded from scratch. That’s why we offer three different studio rates, each tailored to the needs of the session.

Hourly vs Daily Studio Rates

Hourly rates are ideal for shorter, focused sessions. They work best when the artist knows exactly what they need and can make efficient use of the time. Daily rates, on the other hand, are often more cost-effective for longer sessions, especially when recording multiple songs, working with several musicians, or diving deep into production.

By offering both options, we give artists the flexibility to choose what suits their workflow and budget best.

1. Solo Artist Bookings

Our first rate is designed specifically for solo artists. These sessions usually involve a single vocalist recording over a pre-made instrumental or backing track. Because there are fewer technical and logistical demands, these sessions require less setup time and fewer microphones, making the process more streamlined.

For solo artists, the focus is on capturing a clean, high-quality vocal performance. With our acoustically treated rooms and professional recording equipment, we ensure every vocal take is crisp, detailed, and ready for mixing. This type of session is typically faster and more efficient, which is why we offer a lower rate compared to other booking types.

Solo artist bookings are ideal for singers, rappers, and voice artists who want professional results without paying for services they don’t need.

2. Band / Group Bookings

Recording a band or group involves far more moving parts. Multiple performers mean multiple microphones, more complex signal routing, additional setup time, and a greater need for careful sound balancing. Each instrument and voice needs to be captured clearly while still working together as a cohesive performance.

These sessions often take longer, whether it’s setting up drum kits, mic’ing guitar amps, or running multiple takes to get the best group performance. Because of this increased workload and technical complexity, band and group bookings are priced differently.

Our studio is fully equipped to handle live band recordings, rehearsals, and multi-track sessions. With high-end gear and acoustically treated spaces, we create an environment where bands can perform comfortably and confidently, knowing their sound is being captured at the highest possible quality.

3. Music Production Bookings

The third rate is for full music production. This is the most involved type of session and goes beyond simple recording. Music production includes writing, arranging, recording, and shaping the entire track from the ground up. It often involves experimenting with sounds, developing song structure, layering instruments, and refining performances.

Because production sessions demand more creative input, technical expertise, and time, they are priced at a higher rate. These bookings are ideal for artists who want a hands-on, collaborative experience and need support bringing their musical ideas to life.

From the first concept to the final recording, our production sessions are designed to help artists achieve a polished, professional sound ready for release.

Why Our Rates Make Sense

We offer slightly different rates because each type of booking requires a different level of work, preparation, and expertise. By structuring our pricing this way, artists only pay for what they actually need, whether that’s a quick vocal session, a full band recording, or complete music production.

Across all sessions, every artist benefits from the same high standards: top-quality recording equipment, professionally acoustically treated rooms, and a creative environment built to capture the best from voices and instruments alike.

If you’re unsure which rate is right for your project, we’re always happy to help you choose the best option for your music and your budget.
