Handy Information for recording

Booking a recording studio is an important step for any artist, producer, or band. With so many London recording studios available, understanding pricing, booking policies, and studio services can help you choose the right space and get the best value for your session. Whether you’re recording vocals, mixing a track, or working on a full project, here’s some handy information you may not know before booking studio time in London.

Recording Studio Rates in London

One of the most common questions artists ask is about recording studio rates. Prices can vary depending on the studio location, equipment, and the experience of the engineer. At our London recording studio, we offer clear and competitive pricing with no hidden costs.

Our hourly recording studio rate starts from £60 per hour, making it ideal for short vocal sessions or quick recording work. For longer sessions, we offer a discounted day rate. An 8-hour recording session costs £400, which works out at £50 per hour, offering excellent value for artists booking extended studio time in London.

Minimum Booking Time

Many recording studios in London require a minimum booking of two or more hours. This can be inconvenient if you only need a short session. At our studio, the minimum booking time is just one hour.

There is also no setup time charged. All equipment is permanently connected and ready to use, meaning you can begin recording within five minutes of entering the studio. This ensures you get the most out of your paid studio time and helps keep sessions efficient and stress-free.

Dedicated Studio Engineer Included

When booking a professional recording studio in London, it’s important to know whether an engineer is included in the price. At our studio, every recording session includes a dedicated audio engineer at no extra cost.

Your session will be run by Paul Miles, a professional studio engineer with over 25 years of experience. Paul has worked with artists across many genres including pop, rock, dance, hip hop, grime, jazz, and more. Having an experienced engineer included ensures high-quality recordings and smooth sessions for artists of all levels.

Recording Studio Deposit and Cancellation Policy

To secure your recording session, we require a £60 deposit on all bookings. This deposit confirms your time in the studio and allows us to manage our schedule effectively.

If you need to reschedule your recording session, we ask for a minimum of five days’ notice. Cancellations or changes made without sufficient notice will unfortunately result in the loss of the deposit. This policy is standard across many London recording studios and helps ensure fair availability for all clients.

Payment and Invoicing for Recording Sessions

Payment methods vary between recording studios, so it’s always best to clarify this before booking. At our London-based recording studio, we do not offer invoicing. Full payment must be made at the end of the recording session, before the artist receives the final mixes.

We accept online payments, bank transfers, and cash, providing flexibility and convenience for artists and producers.

Overtime and Additional Studio Hours

Creative sessions don’t always end on time. If your recording session runs longer than originally booked, additional studio time can be added subject to availability. Any extra hours are charged at our standard recording studio rate of £60 per hour.
This allows artists to continue recording without interruption while keeping pricing clear and predictable.

Choosing the Right Recording Studio in London

Finding the right recording studio based in London is about more than just price. Transparent rates, flexible booking, experienced engineers, and clear payment policies all contribute to a productive recording session. By understanding these key details in advance, artists can focus on what matters most — creating great music in a professional studio environment.
